Description
A charming and uncommon piece by Jean Marc Poirier, this 1999 carving of a pig has an unmistakable folk appeal. With its tubular body and whimsical proportions, the pig sports a creamy yellow coat mottled with wild, black brushstrokes. Its upright ears, curled tail, red-dot nostrils, and pink tongue add to its characterful oddity. Expressive and slightly mischievous, the figure straddles folk tradition and surreal whimsy. Signed and dated by the artist on the bottom: “J.M. Poirier 13/12/99.” A rare and spirited example from Poirier’s later output.
