Description

This work by Phil Richards, titled “Deadly Fruit,” is a vivid example of his technical precision and surrealist inclination. A tall, spiked plant dominates the foreground, its bluish trunk and fresh green leaves rendered with clarity and tactile texture. It sits in a basket patterned with rich browns, reminiscent of Indigenous textile designs. Behind it, a sinuous red and ochre form—part fruit, part serpentine object—rests on a rose-hued surface.
