Milton Glaser

Milton Glaser was one of the most influential graphic designers of the 20th century, best known for creating the iconic “I  NY” logo and for co-founding New York Magazine. His work revolutionized visual communication, blending art, illustration, and design in ways that reshaped advertising, publishing, and branding.

Glaser’s design work extended beyond logos, encompassing album covers, book illustrations, and corporate identities for major clients such as CBS, DC Comics, and the Brooklyn Brewery. His psychedelic 1967 poster of Bob Dylan, with its flowing, colorful silhouette, became an emblem of the counterculture movement.

Beyond commercial design, Glaser was a dedicated educator and advocate for the importance of creativity in society. His influence extends far beyond his individual works—his design philosophy helped redefine how graphic design is perceived as both an artistic and commercial practice. His work is held in collections at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
